You may recall the encouragement we expressed at the fall clinic to emphasize the honorary life membership status. We want to again encourage each of you to discuss with you various executives and appropriate individuals to identify ABOA members past or present deserving of honorary recognition.

According to the ABOA bylaws: there are 3 methods for nomination of an honorary life member:

1. By the ABOA, with 5 days notice given to the membership before the the AGM.

2. By his/her local board, a board member present at the AGM may put forth the nominee's name provided the board rep has a copy of the minutes of a local board meeting where the nominee was selected.

3. By any ABOA member at the AGM, provided 5 others in attendance second the nomination.

IN EACH CASE ABOVE: the nomination must be supported by a UNANIMOUS vote of all in attendance at the AGM, which will then result in honorary life member status for the individual.

In the case that you have a nomination but cannot have a board representative present for the AGM please submit the nomination to me no later than Monday April 26. That will allow us proper time/consideration to review the name in advance of the AGM.
